What is the Rapture?
The Rapture is one of the most amazing prophecies in the Bible.
Jesus is returning soon! You and I may very well experience what will be one of the most miraculous events in history -- the Rapture.
Picture for a moment an astonishing event where in a split second the world is instantly changed as millions of believers around the globe are taken away...
The Rapture is one of the most amazing prophecies in the Bible and it's the next event in God's plan for the ages.
What will happen in the moments following the Rapture? What will be the reaction of those who remain? What explanation will they attribute to this baffling occurrence?
The most descriptive passage about the Rapture can be found in 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18 which says:
For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
In this glorious moment, Jesus will return to earth to gather all believers who will be caught up together to meet the Lord in the air.
All of those included in the Rapture will be alive and well in a much better place.
Jesus said in John 14:3 that
If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
Christ made the promise that He would come again so we could be with Him forever. And we have a sure word of prophecy (2 Peter 1:19) so this event is guaranteed to happen and it will occur without warning.
As we stand today, the Rapture could literally happen at any moment! And as fast as this event could come, it will be over quicker than anyone could imagine.
The Bible says Jesus will descend with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet call of God. Then, in the twinkling of an eye, believers will be transformed. Then he will remove all believers from the world. Those left behind will be shocked when they see millions have been snatched away at His return.
Believers who have put their faith in Christ will rise to meet the Lord in the air and will forever be with the Savior. Those who have rejected God's free gift of salvation will remain to experience the Tribulation.
Christ's return is the blessed hope of the world and we need to be looking for His coming (Titus 2:13).
God's children will rise to meet the Lord in the air and will forever be with the Savior.
We also need to thank God regularly for this incredible blessing and His amazing love!
We have hope for the future knowing that Jesus is coming back, perhaps very soon, to bring us to our eternal home!
Think about it... we may very well be alive to be caught up to be with the Lord, skipping death, in one of the most astonishing events that will ever happen!
