The Igniting of World War III

Current world events including the Russia invasion of Ukraine, a looming war between Israel and Iran, and many other war rumors seem to have everyone on edge. Do these conflicts have prophetic significance? Will one of these be the spark that drives the world into a global war?

Let's a take a look at what's going on...

Wars Around The World

The ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine has the potential to escalate quickly to a wider conflict. Tensions are certainly high and the potential use of nuclear weapons is only adding to the fear that we're on the cusp of a World War.

Iran has made significant nuclear progress and is now reported to have the capabilities to build their own nuclear weapons. Their stated intentions is to to wipe Israel from the face of the earth.

The recently re-elected Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, said in 2021:

“Iran has never given up its quest for nuclear weapons and the missiles to deliver them,” Netanyahu said. “I will never allow Iran to obtain the nuclear capability to carry out its genocidal goal of eliminating Israel.”

Israel cannot and will not let this happen. So if pushed to the point of no return, Israel will have no choice but to launch a pre-emptive attack before nuclear missiles are launched to destroy their country.

Both of these escalating situations have a possibility of igniting World War III and setting off a cascading series of events that usher in the end of the age.

Jesus said that in the end times "You will hear of wars and rumors of wars."

The Russian invasion and potential conflict between Israel and Iran is just scratching the surface. Many other wars in various parts of the world seem as if they could break out at any moment.

Peace In War

I continue to pray that these situations will de-escalate to prevent the breakout of an expanded war. I'll also continue to suggest and teach that you have no reason to worry.

The world may seem like it is on the brink of annihilation but we have nothing to fear.

We should always remember that our life and this world is completely in God's hands!

In John 14:27 Jesus says:

"Peace I leave with you; My [own] peace I now give and bequeath to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. [Stop allowing yourselves to be agitated and disturbed; and do not permit yourselves to be fearful and intimidated and cowardly and unsettled.]"

Jesus wants you to cast all of your cares upon Him, for He cares deeply for you!

Jesus knew these perilous days were coming. He warned that the whole world would be filled with violence during the last days. Jesus also said in Luke 21:9 that during the end times...

"...when you hear of wars and insurrections (disturbances, disorder, and confusion), do not become alarmed and panic-stricken and terrified; for all this must take place first, but the end will not [come] immediately."

War and Rumors of Wars

The Bible says that "Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom." We're certainly seeing this play out. There many wars going on and there's an increasing threat of many more rumored to begin possibly soon, including China potentially invading Taiwan.

Russia (Rosh), Israel and Iran (Persia) are certainly all major end time players. There are many ways Russia will be involved in Bible prophecy in the future. Could Russia's invasion on Ukraine be paving the way for the Gog-Magog invasion foretold in Ezekiel 38-39? While we don't know for sure how this particular war and the current unstable situation in the Middle East will play out in Bible prophecy its important that we keep our eyes on what's unfolding. Time will tell but many experts have suggested that this could lead to a larger problem in the Middle East which could initiate events talked about in the Bible.

Other than what is revealed through the Bible, only God knows the future.

So we can't know exactly what will happen in the near or distant future but we certainly need to be watching.

Anything is possible at this point in history.

Watch Therefore

The Bible tells us again and again to watch.

The Book of Revelation says:

"Behold, I am coming as a thief. Blessed is he who watches..."

It's not just wars and rumors of wars, but the convergence of all the prophetic signs. In Matthew 24:32-33 Jesus says:

³² “Now learn this lesson from the fig tree: As soon as its twigs get tender and its leaves come out, you know that summer is near.³³ Even so, when you see all these things, you know that it is near, right at the door.—Matthew 24:32-33

We are drawing nearer to Christ's return every day:

And do this, understanding the present time: The hour has already come for you to wake up from your slumber, because our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed.—Romans 13:11

We need to be paying close attention to situations such the Russia/Ukraine war and Israel/Iran tensions as they may be the fire that ignites World War III and the last day events spoken about in scripture.

…And Keep Praying

The wars going on today increasingly fit in with what Jesus says in Luke 21:9 about wars and commotions. During the end times the Bible says that the focus of the world will shift to the Middle East. We can certainly see this happening with the Middle East crisis and the turbulent situation with Israel and Iran. Wars in this area not only grab the world's attention but also carry with it greater significance because of Bible prophecy.

As mentioned above, what we should be doing is watching, being aware of what's happening in our world. We're encouraged through the Bible to watch for the final signs so we're ready for the return of Jesus Christ.

We all need to continue praying for the protection of the innocent and the families who have lost loved ones in these wars. I pray that God will watch over the men and women involved and safely return them to their families. I pray that their eyes are opened to the truth of the gospel.

Don't ever believe that your pray goes unheard or it doesn't matter. Your prayers matter!

Prayer is powerful and will make a difference. You may not be able to help directly, but prayer is a very important way you can help.

As I watch the number deaths slowly rise from wars around the world, my heart is saddened; it will always be too many. I pray that as many as possible have accepted the free gift of salvation and are now in the presence of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Free At Last, Free At Last

People under evil regimes around the world suffer greatly and, in many circumstances, live in fear for their lives. In some countries, citizens wake up, not knowing if today could be the day that someone loyal to regime may kill them for any reason. It could be simply for speaking the truth.

Can you imagine not being able to freely speak your mind for fear of death?

Can you imagine living in a world such as that? Many live like this around the world today and soon the whole world will experience this oppression when the antichrist dictator comes onto the scene. As these wars unfold, is the antichrist waiting behind the scenes ready to bring a temporary peace to Israel? This is the peace treaty that will start the horrible 7-Year Tribulation spoken about in the Bible.

Thankfully,  those who have put their trust in Jesus will not experience the Tribulation but will be liberated from an evil world by way of the Rapture. Praise God!
